It's a relationship made in Olympic gold medal heaven: Nastia Liukin and Evan Lysacek. Lysacek recently won gold in Vacouver in men's figure skating. Liukin was a multiple medalist on the American gymnastics team in Beijing at the 2008 Summer Games. Now, they are melting down their individual golds into one, combined heart-shaped medal of love. Or something like that.

Mancuso has another great medal chance to come in the giant slalom. She is the defending gold medalist in that event.

Magdalena Neuner is a German biathlete. No, no, no - not a bi athlete, a biathlete! Biathlon combines cross country skiing with shooting. Because if you're like me (and Magdalena), you always carry a gun when you go skiing. It's cold out there - why not pack heat?

Neuner won the gold medal today in Vancouver in Women's 10k Pursuit biathlon.

Tanith Belbin and her partner (sorry dude, this is Babes of Sports, not Dudes of Sports, so you don't get named) are the 2006 Olympic silver medalists in ice dancing. It will be interesting to see the crowd reaction in Vancouver to Belbin, since she is Canadian by birth and retains Canadian citizenship. But she also has American citizenship and has competed for the U.S. since 1998.

Hannah Teter is another of the American Winter Olympians who posed for the 2010 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. Teter told Reuters, reponding to any controversy over the pics:

"I was really amped up to do that, because I don't believe in the criminalization of bodies and women having to be ashamed of their bodies. "The pictures are a little risque, but they’re totally not sexual. Bodies are beautiful and should be appreciated."


Teter is a snowboarder who won golf in the halfpipe at the Torino Games.
